Job Description
Position Summary
The Health Information Services Technician participates as an integral member of the Health Information Services team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information/medical records, within all laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies and The Joint Commission standards for the quality of patient care. The Health Information Technician oversees the daily department functions to provide timely, consistent processes.
Qualifications
Education: Graduation from a medical records program or other related field preferred; high school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience:
At least three (3) years experience in healthcare management/medical records or clerical field preferred.
Additional requirements:
Typing speed of at least 40 wpm preferred. Must be willing to work flexible hours.
