JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of the Department of Public Health and Research and the Chief Government Relations Officer, assists in advancing the Clinic's wellness and prevention platforms and gathering the outcomes data required to translate programs to policy. The Program Associate will work towards this department goal specifically through assisting with the following: 1. design, development and implementation of the Clinic public health programs and strategy; 2. managing relationships and communicating with partners, decision makers and/or community leaders to ensure the greatest positive impact to the Clinic and target populations; and 3. securing support for Clinic public health priorities, as well as influencing public health policy changes, through a process of identifying, strategizing, and prioritizing projects. The Program Associate will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external resources. The Program Associate will also interface with all PHR leadership and the GR team regarding strategies to support operating, programmatic, clinical, capital and research priorities for the Clinic.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in public health, health, policy, or related field and/or experience in public health, government relations, public policy or related health field. Must have a thorough understanding of public health and/or health systems research functions including community programming, outcomes based research, healthcare policy and related activities. Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with internal and external education, community and government participants. Excellent written and oral communication/public presentation skills. Ability to function well as a team member and independently on a variety of planned and unplanned projects and daily activities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent organization and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and the government. Must be detailed oriented. Must demonstrate strong initiative. One to two years of relevant experience, preferrably in a public health and/or government relations environment or commiserate experience. Proven ability to perform well in a collaborative environment. Proven ability to thoroughly research and analyze a program, prepare a clear and concise report and make recommendations. Proven ability to establish and maintain friendly and cooperative relations with individuals contacted during the course of work, (e.g., community organization leadership, school district leadership, elected officials, agency heads, university executives, Clinic leadership, staff physicians, etc.). Manual dexterity to operate office equipment. Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds. May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting. Good visual ability through normal or corrected vision.
