GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Manager of Safety & Security, the Security Officer is responsible for greeting all customers entering the building via the main entrance. Strong interpersonal customer skills required in greeting every customer with a warm and friendly smile, introducing self by name, listening to customer concerns in ways that show genuine concern and assisting customers with special needs such as translators, interpreters etc. Give close attention to both verbal and non-verbal communication.

MINIMIUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Knowledge, and Skills
High School graduate or equivalent. Must have a thorough knowledge of English/grammar, spelling and punctuation, Spanish helpful. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Must demonstrate strong customer service skills. Must be discreet in the divulgence of confidential information. Conveys a friendly/cheerful/respectful demeanor. Must have a positive attitude. Must maintain good working relations with employees and staff. Must retain composure during any real or imagined emergency. Must be able to learn locations of the various departments and doctor's offices. Demonstrated customer service training and ability to educate staff. Clean and well groomed professional appearance.

REQUIRED LENGTH AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE:
One year of relevant experience in the security field required; previous security experience in the healthcare environment preferred.
