Technician 2, Nutrition (Job 9101), minimum hourly wage is $11.68 (part-time, 20 hours per week), posted 04/02/10

The nature of this position involves a project funded by NIH. The objective is to understand how natural antioxidants modulate disease progression. This part-time position involves laboratory and animal work functions.

• Maintain mouse colonies

• Breed selected mouse strains

• Genotype mice by PCR

• Maintain careful records and registry of all animals

• Help in basic laboratory maintenance

• Perform radioactive surveys and maintain radioactive logs



REQUIREMENTS
Experience
1 to 1 ½ years work experience

Education/licensing
High school education required; bachelor’s degree preferred

Essential skills
• Transgenic mice handling

• Breeding and genotyping

• Familiar with molecular techniques
